Automatic Updates

Licensed sites update MediaFlow through the normal WordPress update flow, and unlicensed sites are told nothing rather than offered an unusable update.

Documents version1.5.1

Last updated

On this page

Updates come with the licence. A licensed site sees the usual “update available” row on the Plugins screen and updates in one click — there is nothing MediaFlow asks you to do differently.

How it works

MediaFlow puts the signed version and package information into WordPress’s own update mechanism, so updates arrive through the flow you already use. Update metadata is refreshed at most every six hours.

Forcing a check

Check Again on Dashboard → Updates now reaches the licence server every time, instead of being answered from MediaFlow’s own six-hour cache.

Unlicensed sites

Activate a licence and updates appear.

Where the package can come from

A package URL is accepted only when it is served by the licence server’s own host — even when it arrives inside a valid signature.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to enable anything for updates?

No. Activate your licence and updates arrive through the normal WordPress flow.

I do not see an update row.

Check that the licence is active on Media → MediaFlow → License, then use Check Again on Dashboard → Updates. On plugin 1.5.1 and newer that always reaches the licence server; on older builds, metadata refreshes at most every six hours, so a brand-new release may take that long to appear.

Can I update on a site whose licence has lapsed?

No. Renew, and the update appears.
