Activation Registering a license on a specific website. Each activation uses one of the license’s allowed‑site slots.

Allowed Sites The number of websites a single license may be activated on. Can be a fixed number (1, 3, 5, 10, 25) or Unlimited.

Audit History A chronological log of subscription and license events (renewals, cancellations, plan changes, etc.) for record‑keeping.

Automatic Renewal Charging a customer’s saved payment method automatically when their subscription is due, with no action from them. A Pro feature.

Cancellation (at period end) Stopping future renewals while letting the customer keep access until the term they already paid for ends.

Customer Dashboard The front‑end area (via shortcode or Elementor widget) where customers view and manage their subscriptions, invoices, and profile.

Duration How long each subscription term lasts — Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime.

Expiry The date a subscription’s paid term ends. After expiry, the grace period begins (if set), then the license expires.

Grace Period A short window after expiry during which the license still works, giving the customer time to renew.

License The key and permissions issued to a customer when they buy a subscription product. It controls what they can access and on how many sites.

License Key The unique code a customer uses to activate a product on their site(s).

Off‑Session Charge A payment taken without the customer being present — how automatic renewals work. Requires a saved (reusable) payment method.

Plan A named tier (e.g. Starter, Pro, Agency) that defines price, interval, allowed sites, and features. Products link to a plan.

Renewal Extending a subscription for another term — manual (customer reorders) on Free, or automatic on Pro.

Revoke Immediately terminating a license and releasing all its activated sites. Used for abuse or refunds.

Shortcode A small tag like [subscriptionflow_dashboard] that places a SubscriptionFlow page into any post or page.

Starter (Free) / Pro The two plan levels of SubscriptionFlow itself. Free covers core subscription management; Pro adds automation, payments, security, and design features.

Subscription The recurring billing cycle behind a customer’s purchase. It keeps the associated license paid and active.

Turnstile (Cloudflare) A privacy‑friendly bot check that protects login and registration forms. A Pro feature.

Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA) A login step that requires a one‑time code (by email or SMS) in addition to the password. A Pro feature.

Vault (PayPal) PayPal’s feature for securely saving a buyer’s PayPal account so it can be charged again later — required for automatic PayPal renewals.

Webhook A message a payment provider sends to your site to confirm events (like a completed payment), making automatic billing reliable.
