Where to find it: SubscriptionFlow → Email Center → License.

What this does

If you sell licensed plugins/themes, these keep customers aware of where their license is being used — useful for security and for nudging upgrades when they run out of sites.

Email Sent when
License Activated A site is activated with the license (new or returning)
New Website Activation A brand‑new site is activated (great as a security alert)
License Deactivated A site is deactivated, freeing a slot
Activation Limit Reached An activation is blocked because all allowed sites are in use

How to use it

  1. SubscriptionFlow → Email Center → License.
  2. Click Edit on New Website Activation.
  3. Enable it and word it as a friendly security notice — e.g. “A new site ({activated_domain}) was just activated on your license. If this wasn’t you…”.
  4. Preview, Send test, Save Email.

Useful placeholders here: {activated_domain}, {used_sites}, {remaining_activations}, {allowed_sites}, {plan}, {dashboard_url}. See the Placeholder Reference.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use New Website Activation as a security signal — it tells customers (and flags to you) when a key is used somewhere new.

  • Turn Activation Limit Reached into an upsell — include {dashboard_url} and invite the customer to upgrade to a higher‑site plan.

  • Show usage with {used_sites} / {remaining_activations} so customers understand their limit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between “License Activated” and “New Website Activation”?

License Activated fires on every activation (including re‑activating a known site). New Website Activation fires only the first time a specific site is added — ideal for security alerts.

Does deactivating a site really free a slot?

Yes. License Deactivated confirms it and {remaining_activations} reflects the freed slot.

Will “Activation Limit Reached” spam a customer who retries?

It sends when an activation attempt is refused by the limit. Keep the wording helpful and point them to upgrade/deactivate.

Do these require Pro?

Yes — the Email Center is a Pro feature, so these require an active Pro license.
