Subscriptions & Invoices
Inside the customer dashboard, subscribers manage their plans in Subscriptions and reach their Invoices. What customers can and cannot do there.
On this page
The Subscriptions section 🆓
This is the heart of the dashboard. Customers see each of their subscriptions with:
- The plan and status (Active, Free Trial, Grace Period, Expired, etc.).
- Renewal / expiry information (“Renews in…” or “Ends in…”).
- Their license details and where it’s activated (allowed sites).
- Actions, depending on what you’ve enabled on the product:
- Cancel the subscription (if Allow Cancellation is on — Pro).
- Upgrade / switch plan (if Allow Upgrades is on — Pro).
- Renew (link to re‑purchase, useful for manual renewals).
While a free trial is running
A subscription on a free trial shows a Free Trial badge, plus:
- the trial end date and how many days remain;
- the next payment date — the first charge, which is not taken before then;
- whether a payment method is on file, with an Add Payment Method button when none is.
The Invoices section
On Pro, customers get an Invoices tab listing their WooCommerce orders with:
- Invoice number, date, status, and total.
- A Download PDF button that generates a branded invoice.
The PDF design (company details, colors, texts) is controlled by you under Settings → PDF Invoice Template. See PDF Invoice Template.
How customers use it
View a subscription
- The customer logs in and opens your dashboard page.
- They select the Subscriptions section to see status and renewal info.
Cancel or upgrade (Pro)
- If enabled, they click Cancel or Upgrade Plan.
- Cancellations keep access until the paid period ends; upgrades follow the paths you defined. See Cancellations and Plan Switching & Upgrades.
Download an invoice (Pro)
- They open the Invoices section.
- They click Download PDF next to any order.
Tips & Best Practices
-
Enable only the self‑service actions you want. Turn on Allow Cancellation and Allow Upgrades per product to control what customers can do themselves.
-
Brand your invoices. Set your company details and colors in the PDF Invoice Template so downloads look professional.
-
Set an Upgrade URL so the upgrade/renew button leads customers straight to the right product.
-
Explain statuses. Clear status labels reduce “is my subscription active?” support messages.
